Ok. I’ve got to be straight with you guys. This recipe is not mine. It’s Nestle Tollhouse’s. I was thinking about what makes a great chocolate chip cookie, and well, their recipe is perfect. It doesn’t need anything. And you know what, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
These are the classic recipe, all I’ve done is cut it in half and used the chocolate and peanut butter morsels instead of straight choc. Yum!
Chocolate Peanut Butter Softies
Makes about 3 dozen
1 stick of butter, at room temp
1 egg, at room temp
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 tspn vanilla extract
1 cup flour
1/2 tspn baking powder
a pinch of salt
1 cup Nestle morsels (the choc/PB ones are delicious!!)
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Cream the butter, sugars and vanilla together. Add the egg and mix well. Combine all the dry ingredients and then gradually add them to the wet. Stir in the morsels.
Drop onto a prepared baking sheet using a small ice cream scooper. Bake for 11 minutes, or until golden brown. Let them hang out on the sheet for several minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
