52 Weeks of Cooking – Week 9

My love of garlic is not something I stumbled upon. It wasn’t something that happened to me. I was born like this. I’m not as hardcore as Pop was when he was alive… The man would seriously eat RAW garlic. No, I’m not kidding. Raw. Straight out of the skins. I think it’s probably part of why he lived to be 94. So really, I’m doing myself a favor by eating the amount of garlic I do. Right? Right! Rationalization complete!

The 9th week of the Reddit 52 Weeks of Cooking challenge was themed “garlic.” Anything starring garlic, sky’s the limit.

I made the most decadent, unctuous garlic bread ever. I’d like to tell you all that I came up with the recipe myself, but it came from Life’s Ambrosia. Here is the recipe for Garlic and Brie Pull Apart Bread. That’s right, garlic AND brie. The creamy smoothness of the brie really highlights the garlic and the two dance a delicious tango together on your taste buds. The only adaptation was I used 2 small boules instead of 1 large one. And it was amazing. I haven’t made it since because I like to fit into my clothing. But it would be absolutely perfect for a dinner party… “Come on in, here’s a glass of wine, and here, try this AMAZINGLY IMPRESSIVE AND DELICIOUS GARLIC BREAD!”

1 - Roast your garlic then melt some butter with it

2 - Pour the butter and garlic on then stuff with brie

3 - Devour that Immediately

Go forth and eat garlic people!!

XOXO,
Marga

  • Fund fact: garlic has a lot of great antibiotic and antifungal properties to it. A lot of studies have been done on it. Some was found for raw garlic, some found for garlic processed by the body. So your rationalization is completely legit! 😀 Also, loved the tone of this post 🙂

    • Ha! I knew I was on to something. Thanks for backing me up with some smarty science stuff =)

  • OMG, I’m dying for a piece of this garlic bread right now! looks amazing!
